Funeral for Barbara S. Turner, 69, of Hartselle was Wed., Oct. 5, at 11 a.m. at Hartselle First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Robert Sparkman, Bobby Ray Halbrooks and Harold Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.

Ms. Turner died Mon., Oct. 3, at her residence. She was born March 23, 1942, in Calhoun County to Charles Clyde Simpson and Lola Mae Cantor Simpson. She was an active member of Hartselle First United Methodist Church and a dedicated member of the Heritage Choir. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by two sons, Gary Turner and wife Leah of Hartselle and Dr. Darrell S. Prestridge and wife Alisa of Birmingham; a daughter, Cindy Knight and husband Joey of Hartselle; a sister, Audrey Simpson of Piedmont; and five surviving grandchildren, Trevor Knight, Breanna Knight, Rebecca Dollar, William Turner and Sam Turner.

Pallbearers were Billy Coleman, Mike Lott, Rayburn Bradley, Bill Ruehl, Cliff Lowe and Dr. Bruce Simpson.

Honorary pallbearers were members of Wesleyan Sunday School Class and the Wednesday Night Bible Study Group with Becky Tankersley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church Good Samaritan Fund, Hartselle Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society or the Joe Lee Griffin Hope Lodge, 1104 Ireland Way, Birmingham, AL 35205.
