Music, autograph signing coming to Massey Town

Everyone is invited to attend a singing and book signing at Sweet Annie’s at Massey Town Mon., Oct. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. Guest singers will be Eddie Miller and Gerald Taylor. Author Will McCollum will be available to autograph his new book entitled “Rural Route One,” a story about his experiences growing up on a farm in the Ryan community.

Jean and Willodean Minter Whitley, formerly of the Massey community, are enjoying visiting relatives and friends in this area. They are currently residing in Ames, Iowa. They had lunch on Friday with Ronnie Reeder, Donnie and Song Chandler, Joyce Whitley, Katie Sue Hardin, Hattie Mae Hardin, Kay Farrer, Hazel Campbell, Martha Templeton, Bill Padgett and Reba Barnes.

United Methodist Women of McKendree United Methodist Church met Wed., Sept. 21, for their annual luncheon at O’Bryan’s in Hartselle. Attending were Carolyn Besnyl and daughter, Joyce O’Neal, Kay Farrer, newcomer Sally Kerr, Wilene Carter, Linda Ryan, Peggy Durand, Jeannie Alexander, and Pam Bryant Holmes. Everyone missed Ruth Lewis who had a previous appointment as well as Lois Penn and Jean Lawrence, both of whom are in local healthcare facilities. Also missed was Earlene Morris who was not feeling well.
