Ryan School taking part in holiday Can-A-Thon
Happy birthday wishes to Harley Whisenant and Jorge Salas.
Our pep rally last Thursday was terrific! The cheerleaders got us revved up and ready to go! All the grades cheered loudly, but the seventh graders were the loudest and won the coveted Spirit Stick. Way to go cheerleaders and seventh grade!
I was so proud of our girls’ and boys’ basketball teams last Friday night when they played West Morgan. Our team rosters may be short in number, but our players are huge in heart. Both teams played hard and never gave up despite the fact there are few to substitute.
I was also extremely proud of our coaches for their sportsmanship and positive approach to their teams. Please come out and support the kids and coaches.
On Nov. 1, the Ryan Red Devils will be playing Lacey’s Spring at 1p.m. at Ryan and an away game Nov. 9 at 5 p.m. at Danville. Go team!
A big thank you to everyone for supporting our Fall Festival. We had a wonderful time and wonderful food! Watch next week for more details about the event.
A Can-A-Thon is being sponsored by Mrs. Ransom and the Ryan Junior High School Beta Club.
Can-A-Thon is a canned food drive that provides food to local agencies in Morgan County to help people in our community. WAFF48 will collect the cans at the Decatur Mall in December, so bring some canned food items to your homeroom teacher before Dec. 1.
The homeroom with the most cans donated will win a treat!
As you begin planning your holiday menus and goodies, please be sure to save and send your Campbell’s soup labels and box tops for education. They really add up and help the school.
