Runners battle water at Randolph Classic

Battles was 25th overall at 18:53, while Duncan finished 27th at 18:58.
Cameron Cunningham (19:46), Tristen Mitchell (20:27) and Alex Wilt (21:34.5) completed the Tigers’ scoring.
Priceville, led by Tim Rayman, finished 16th in the small schools division.
Tyler Johnson, Nathan George, Jackson Morris and Justin Dozier also scored for the Bulldogs.
In the girls’ race, Hartselle’s top five runners all finished in the top 40 in the large school division.
Joy Harris was 19th at 24:54, followed by Haley Baker at 26:07.
Sanchez (27:19), Elmore (27:19) and Walker (29:16) also scored for the Lady Tigers.
Priceville’s girls were 14th overall in the small school division with four runners finishing in the top 100 spots.
Paige Terry was 49th overall at 26:55 and was followed by Alisha Burchell (71st), Toni Gautney (75th), Catherine Barber (87th) and Alicia Gibson (100th).
Kudzu Hills
Hartselle’s boys placed four runners in the top 50 at the Kudzu Hills Invitational Saturday in Bremen to finish sixth overall in the boys’ 4A-6A race.
Priceville was 12th in the 5K race.
Brewer’s Clay Oden, running unattached, finished third overall with a time of 17:39.36. He finished 29 seconds behind the lead runner.
Jonathan Duncan and Noah Battles finished with sub-19-minute times to lead Hartselle.
Duncan’s time of 18:32.81 was good enough for 11th place, while Battles ran an 18:54.36 to finish 17th.
Cameron Cunningam was 28th overall at 19:35.30. Alex Wilt (49th) and Tristen Mitchell (54th) rounded out the Hartselle scorers.
The Tigers’ Chad Wallwork was 128th overall.
Priceville’s Tim Rayman ran a 20:50.40 to lead the Bulldogs. Tyler Johnson finished five seconds later at 20:55.86 to take 59th overall.
Also scoring for the Bulldogs were Jarad Gunn (73rd), Spencer Johnson (107th) and Justin Dozier (129th). Jackson Morris finished 131st for Priceville.
Falkville’s Heath Blanchard (19:53.86) was 21st overall in the 1A-3A race. Michael Hopper finished 44th, while Evan Cottingham came in 99th.
Hartselle’s girls were fourth overall in the 4A-6A varsity race with Joy Harris and Haley Baker leading the way for the Lady Tigers.
Harris’ time of 25:48.20 was good enough for 20th place. Baker was 23rd overall at 25:57.94.
Rounding out the top five for Hartselle were Ivy Buchanan, Cheyenne Sanchez, Amanda Hampton and Lindsey Elmore.
Priceville had two girls finish in the top 60 spots as the Lady Bulldogs finished 10th in the team standings. Paige Terry’s 28:02.26 effort put her in 43rd place, while Alisha Burchell finished 53rd with a 29:08.40.
Also scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were Toni Gautney, Lauren Clem and Alicia Gibson.
Falkville’s Sarah Ayre (27:44.46) finished 65th in the 1A-4A race. Heather Smith ran a 28:44.24 to finish 73rd.
