Funeral for Docia Mahalie Sudduth Collins, 94, of Hartselle was Wed., Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Kenneth Sudduth and Tony Collins officiating.
Burial was in Fairview #2 Cemetery.
Mrs. Collins died Sun., Sept. 26, 2010, at her residence. She was born June 12, 1916, in Winston County to Jesse Edgeworth Sudduth and Tinnie Elizabeth Knighten Sudduth. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and gifted in hospitality. She was a gospel music fan and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 44 years, Mack V. Collins; an infant son, Lamar; a son, Bobby; a granddaughter, Dale Collins; and seven siblings.
She is survived by five sons, Loyd Collins and wife Shirley, Doyle Collins and wife Margie, Frank Collins and wife Patsy, MacArthur Collins and wife Jackie and Billy Collins and daughter-in-law, Kaytreen; two daughters, Wynetta Owens and husband Price and Euna Freeman and husband Ancel; and a host of grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were nephews.
