Hartselle runners 10th, 11th in Crimson Classic

TUSCALOOSA – Hartselle’s girls and boys cross country teams finished 10th and 11th respectively Saturday at the Crimson Classic on the campus of the University of Alabama.
Hartselle’s girls had 12 runners compete in the race with Joy Harris and Haley Baker leading the Lady Tigers’ effort.
Harris finished 79th overall with a time of 25:20.70, while Baker was 96th at 26:22.40.
UMS-Wright won the girls’ team title with a score of 37 points, while Mountain Brook was second with 44 points.
Hartselle was 10th in the 14-team field with a team score of 318.
Rounding out the scorers for Hartselle were Lindsey Elmore (116th, 28:36.70), Cheyenne Sanchez (120th, 29:07.50) and Ivy Buchanan (132nd, 31:34.10).
Also running for the Lady Tigers was Sarah Walker (31:53.90), Peyton Roberts (32:19.60), Erin Brown (33:30.20), Amanda Hampton (34:12.00), Brooke Wilson (42:38.00), Anna Harrison (42:44.00) and Brittany Brown (43:00.00).
Noah Battles and Jonathan Duncan finished in the top 60 to lead the Tigers in the boys’ race.
Battles, who missed last week’s race at Chickasaw Trails in Oakville, ran a 19:16.58 to finish 52nd overall for the Tigers.
Duncan came in with a time of 19:30.50 to finish 58th overall.
Mountain Brook won the boys’ team title with a score of 30, while Vestavia Hills was second with 49 points. Oak Mountain was third at 106.
Hartselle’s boys finished with a team score of 311 in the 17-team meet.
Tristen Mitchell (103rd, 20:40.50), Cameron Cunningham (128th, 21:17.40) and Alex Wilt (147th, 21:52.00) also scored for the Tigers in the meet that drew 17 teams.
Chad Wallwork ran a 24:45.50 to finish 196th for the Tigers.
