It’s illegal to do what with a porcupine?

A year or so ago I wrote an article about silly laws.  Since then I have come across quite a few more.  So here it goes:
Florida seems to have quite a few of unusual laws such as:
It is against the law to fall asleep under a hair dryer, the salon owner can also be fined.
An unmarried woman cannot parachute on Sunday.  She risks being fined and/or jailed.
If you are tying an elephant to a parking meter you must pay the same parking fee as a vehicle.
You must have a license to skateboard.  (Wow, my seven-year-old would be in trouble!)
It is an offense to take a shower naked. (Is this a don’t ask, don’t tell one or what?)
It is illegal to have sexual relations with a porcupine. (You really need a law for this?)
Men may not be seen in public in a strapless gown. (So make sure you stay home when you model those strapless gowns men!)
However, ladies you might think twice about moving to Arkansas because there it is legal for a man to beat his wife once a month.  Also in Arkansas it is illegal for the Arkansas River to rise higher than the Main Street Bridge in Little Rock. (And they will do what about it?  Fine the river?)
In Arizona donkeys are not allowed to sleep in bathtubs.
Here’s one to think about in Connecticut for a pickle to legally be a pickle it must bounce.
Indiana has some interesting laws too.  For example, You can get out of paying for a dependent’s medical care if you pray for them. (Nice, bet the hospitals love that one.)  Check forgery is punishable by a  public flogging.  The value of Pi is 4, not 3.1415. . .  (That can be done?)  Liquor stores cannot legally sell milk. (Do I want to know?)
In Louisiana it is illegal to rob a bank and shoot the teller with a water pistol. (So is it legal to rob a bank any other way?)
In Nevada it is still legal to hang someone for shooting your dog on your property. (Don’t think it would be advisable to try this one out.)
In New York the penalty for jumping off a building is death. (Wouldn’t that be the general idea anyway?)
In Utah is it against the law to have sexual relations in the back of an ambulance that is responding to an emergency call. (OK think about this one;  for this to be a law someone probably tried it!)
In Maine shotguns are required to be taken to church in the event of an Indian attack.
In Mississippi it is illegal to teach what polygamy is.
However, I do like this one:  In Idaho it is illegal for a man to give his sweetheart a box of candy weighing less that 50 pounds.  Think we can get this one passed in Alabama?
Hope you have a great week.  If you have a question or comment for Mom’s Corner please send it to:  moms-corner@juno.com
