Plainview School planning July 24 reunion at FUMC

Do you ever wonder about the people you went to school with? How there’re doing, who they married and perhaps where they live? Well, if you attend the Plainview School Reunion (now Sparkman School) you may get this opportunity.
It’s time for the second annual Plainview School Reunion. It will be held on Saturday, July 24, in the ministry center of First United Methodist Church in Hartselle.
Several have asked why there? If you’ve ever attended events at Sparkman School before, the accommodations are limited so the planning committee was left with trying to find a more adequate location. The church has handicap entry and lots of parking, convenient restrooms, plenty of tables and chairs and lots of room.
The doors will open and registration will begin at 3:30 p.m. The program will start at about 5:45 p.m. with a covered dish meal to follow at 6 p.m.
Please bring a large covered dish that will feed at least 12 people, or a large finger food tray, or a dessert. The meat, drinks and eating utensils will be furnished. Class photos will be made after dinner with door prizes and entertainment concluding the program around 9 p.m. Tommy Putman will tape the entire reunion and make class photos. He will provide order forms so you can order copies of both. Bring your camera for personal photos, along with any annuals or old school photos. Donations will be accepted to help with the cost of the event.
The committee is looking forward to seeing you and your spouse or friend. Also feel free to help spread the word to everyone you may know.
If you have any questions, you can contact or call one of the following: Diana Atkins Gurley, 256-778-8432; Kenneth Taylor, 256-773-4276; or Patricia Anders Pettus, 256-773-4902.
Christian love and sympathy is extended to Rheana VanAntwerp and Chris Waldrep in the loss of their three-month-old son, Aiden Lynn Waldrep.
Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Tommy Blankenship on July 1, Justin Dunaway and Greg Terry, both on July 2, Melissa Legg on July 3 Martha Reeves, Phyllis Cox and Glenda Rea, all on July 4, Josh Lamberti on July 5, Laura Patterson and Faith Miller, both of July 6 and Regina Long on July 7.
Happy wedding anniversary wishes go out to Pat and Kristy Halbrooks on July 2, Doug and Leona Fortinberry on July 3, Joe and Nancy Morrow on July 4 and Brandon and Stacey Miller on July 4.
Happy birthday wishes to my aunt, Linda Jo Bormar, who will celebrate her birthday on Friday, July 2.
I hope all of you have a great Fourth of July holiday.
