A graveside service for Willie Long Smith, 92, of Deer Park, Tex., formerly of Morgan County, was Tue., June 15, at 2 p.m. at Union Hill Cemetery with Bro. Clyde Ledlow officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Ms. Smith died Fri., June 11, 2010, at Bayshore Medical Center. She was born April 2, 1918, in Morgan County to James F. Long and Minnie Woodard Long. She was a former employee of Bayshore Medical Center and a homemaker who enjoyed laughing and having a good time with friends and family.
We commemorate her life by remembering her words “keep on moving and keep on singing.”
She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie H. Smith.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Parker of Pasadena, Tex. and Carolyn Smith and husband Tommy of Deer Park, Tex.; three grandchildren, Carla Landham, Sarah Williford and husband Dave and Ryan Smith and wife Carolyn; four great-grandchildren, Shelbi Hancock, Justin Smith, Gabriella Smith and Jacob Falcon.
Pallbearers were family.
