Calhoun now smoke free school
Calhoun Community College is the first institution of higher learning to go tobacco free.
The change was announced last week and goes into effect for the fall semester. Calhoun joins 243 colleges and universities around the country who have made the decision to become tobacco-free institutions.
The tobacco-free policy, which will become effective on Aug. 16, will prohibit the use, distribution or sale of any tobacco product in college buildings or in or upon college premises. The policy does not extend to personal vehicles.
