Buckelew, Williams to wed
Carl and Theresa Buckelew of Eva announce the engagement of their daughter, Tawny Buckelew to A.J. Williams, son of Glenn and Teena K. Williams of Somerville.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Jean Buckelew and the late Buford Buckelew of Eva, Ray and Diane Doss of Falkville and the late Betty Doss.
She is a graduate of Brewer High School, Wallace State Community College and Athens State University. She majored in elementary education.
The future groom is the grandson of Elizabeth L. Kelly of Decatur and the late Rev. Jasper Kelly, Faye R. Williams of Somerville and the late Harold “Buddy” Williams.
A graduate of Brewer High School, he also attended Calhoun Community College and the Alabama Fire College. He is currently employed with American Ambulance of Cullman.
The wedding is planned for June 12, 2009, at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Eva.
Cordell, Carden to wed
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cordell of Fort Payne announce the engagement of their daughter, Candice Elizabeth Cordell of Tuscaloosa to Walden Matthew Carden, son of Patricia Partlow of Omaha, Neb. and the late Mark Glen Carden of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Howland of Scottsboro and the late Ora Cordell of Fort Payne. A 2001 graduate of Fort Payne High School, she received her bachelor’s degree in broadcast news from the University of Alabama in 2006. She received her master’s degree in sports management from UA in 2007.
She is employed as national event coordinator for Ticket Solutions.
The future groom is the grandson of Alberta E. Carden of Hartselle and the late Bobby Glen Carden and Mary Bateman of Decatur and the late Roger W. Bateman of Decatur and Pat Blue of Ocoee, Fla.
A 1997 graduate of Hartselle High School, he will graduate from the University of Alabama with a degree in history and secondary education. He is employed by UPS and coaches football and baseball at Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa.
The wedding is planned for June 6, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Fort Payne.
Flowers, Light to wed
Carl and Melissa Flowers of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Carla Michelle Flowers, to Terry James Light, son of Jerry Light of Falkville and Tammy Nelson of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of William and Linda McKee of Decatur and Bill Flowers and the late Myrtle Flowers of Oklahoma City, Ok. She is a 2007 graduate of Hartsele High School and currently attends the Alabama Business College in Decatur.
The future groom is the grandson of Harold and Glenda Ferguson of Hartselle and Susan Kennedy of Hartselle and the late Barney Light. He is the great-grandson of Joyce Light of Hartselle. He attended Hartselle High School and is currently employed with BMST in Decatur.
The wedding is planned for May 30 at 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church in Hartselle.
