A graveside service for Marie W. Clemons, 81, of Hartselle was Friday, Sept. 5, at 2 p.m. at Shoal Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Don Reeves officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Clemons died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, at her residence. She was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Morgan County to Henry Ward and Bessie Stricklin Ward. She was a Baptist and was preceded in death by her husband, Carswell ”Buck” Clemons; and a son, James Earl Tucker.
She is survived by four sons, Harrell Couch of Georgia, Bobby Couch and Hershel Clemons, both of Hartselle, and Johnny Couch of Jasper; two daughters, Judy Clemons of Hartselle and Jene Reeves of Langston; a sister, Lottie Cantrell of Green; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Family members and friends were pallbearers.
