Jones, Marzette exchange vows
Christi LaShara Jones of Hartselle and Terence Leron Marzette of Birmingham were wed Aug. 9, 2008, at Point Mallard Parkway Church of Christ.
The bride is the daughter of Teresa and Jeff Sharpley of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Patricia and Thomas Marzette of Birmingham.
Barry Brackins officiated the ceremony.
The altar was decorated with a pewter Riviera three piece column setting with floral arrangements and two fifteen holder candelabras with ivy greenery and latte and ivory silk tulle with floral pew bows on each pew, each decorated with latte silk ribbons.
The bride was given in marriage by her grandfather, Norah Jones.
She wore a white satin gown with a bodice embroidered with crystals and pearls and a sweep train. She wore a blusher white veil with crown embroidered with crystals and pearls. She carried a floral bouquet with white roses and white calla lilies hand tied with a white silk ribbon.
Natalie Bush, cousin of the groom, of Birmingham was matron of honor. Nellie Jones Harris, cousin of the bride, of Birmingham, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Jones, aunt of the bride, of Hartselle, Felicia Turney, cousin of the bride, of Huntsville, April Jones, cousin of the bride, of Birmingham, LaToya Malone, cousin of the bride, of Decatur, Andrea Reliford, cousin of the groom, of Birmingham, Nikki Wallace of Hartselle, NaKisha Orr of Decatur, Jessica Troupe of Huntsville, LaToya Cunningham of Birmingham, and Lilliam Kamara of Washington, D.C. Bridesmaids wore latte satin gowns with hints of ivory on the maid and matron of honor gowns. They carried long-stemmed ivory calla lilies hand-tied with latte and ivory silk ribbons.
Flower girls were Kara Oshner, niece of the bride, of Falkville, Jaylyn Jones, cousin of the bride, of Moulton, Mya Reliford, cousin of the groom, of Birmingham, and Gabrielle Freeman, cousin of the groom, of Birmingham.
Ring bearer was Michael Bush Jr., cousin of the groom, of Birmingham and Bible bearer was Eric Evans Jr., cousin of the groom, of Birmingham.
Tedrick Marzette, brother of the groom, of Birmingham, and Rodney Reliford, cousin of the groom, of Birmingham, were best men.
Groomsmen were Jason Jones, uncle of the bride, of Hartselle, Greshon Irvin, cousin of the bride, of Hartselle, Waymon Short, cousin of the groom, of Birmingham, Eric Evans, cousin of the groom, of Birmingham, Cedrick Henderson of Birmingham, Charles Jemison of Birmingham, Desmond Seay of Birmingham, Marquis Goins of Birmingham, Mario Brewster of Birmingham and Nicholas Hunter of Birmingham.
Ushers were Adam Jones, cousin of the bride, of Hartselle, Jeremy Warren, cousin of the bride, of Hartselle and Carleton Goodlore of Florence.
Candlelighter was Carleton Goodloe of Florence.
Music was provided by DeWayne Tapscott of Hartselle and vocalists Theo Smith of Decatur and Melody Holt of Huntsville.
The reception was held at Holiday Inn and Suites at the Wheeler Grand Ballroom in Decatur.
The bride’s table featured a three-tiered square cake lavished with latte icing and ivory pearls on each layer and garnished with latte and ivory flowers and greenery with a fountain of water flowing beneath.
The groom’s table featured a multi-layered assorted cheesecake with strawberry toppings and chocolate covered strawberries with assorted greenery.
The wedding was directed by Oliner Bowers of Huntsville. Assisting with the reception were Brenda Jones, aunt of the bride, of Decatur, Angelia Jones, aunt of the bride, of Decatur, Minnie Warren, cousin of the bride, of Hartselle, Felicia Williams of Courtland, Francis Hereford, aunt of the bride, of Hartselle and Rosie Foster, aunt of the bride, of Hartselle. Angelia Jones of Decatur and Minnie Warren of Hartselle attended the bride’s book.
The couple enjoyed a honeymoon cruise to the western Carribean. They are now at home in Birmingham.
