Stanley Weeks

A memorial service for Stanley Weeks, 86, of Falkville will be Thursday, Aug. 28, at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Sparkman officiating.
Mr. Weeks died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2008, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 8, 1921, in Marion County to Samuel and Eula Weeks. He and his wife Flora lived in Birmingham for many yeas. After serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II, he graduated from Florence State University and obtained a master’s degree from the University of Alabama. He was a schoolteacher and principal at several North Alabama schools. He also worked for the Social Security Administration, Blue-Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters and a granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Flora Sumner Weeks; a son, Jerry Weeks of Hartselle; two grandsons, Jud and Ty Foust of Birmingham; a granddaughter, Millie Foust Jones of Rainbow City; a brother, Bill Weeks of Vernon; and five great-grandchildren.
