The Volunteer Center of Morgan County will host its annual “Heart of the Community Awards” Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. at Oak Park Middle School. The event is sponsored by Sen. Arthur Orr.
For the past 25 years, the Volunteer Center has recognized volunteers from across Morgan County who have given their time and talents to the community. If you’d like to nominate an individual or group for an award, call 355-8628 or pick up a nomination form at the Volunteer Center, 708 6th Ave. SE, Decatur.
Awards will be given in the following categories: adult or youth individual, adult or youth group, Partners in Community and Lifetime Achievement. Partners in Community and Lifetime Achievement recipients will receive a $500 donation to their organization from Sen. Orr.
