Funeral for Morris Doyle Brown, 71, of Danville was Monday, August 11, at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Salter officiating.
Burial was in Brown-Roberts Cemetery.
Mr. Brown died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Jan. 24, 1937, in Morgan County to David M. Brown and Betty Viola Brown. He was a member of Upton Chapel United Methodist Church, Danville Masonic Lodge #95 and the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local in Madison for 53 years. He was preceded in death by a son, David Allen Brown; a brother, Marion Ratliff Brown; and a sister, Olene Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Brown of Danville; two sons, Mahlon Doyle Brown and wife Teresa of Danville and Eddie Brown of Dothan; two daughters, Cynthia Long and husband Dale and Teresa Faulkner, all of Danville; a brother, Rayburn Brown of Danville; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers were Casey Long, Matt Brown, Joshua Faulkner, Jerry Summerford, Patrick Waird and Kevin Brown.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Rodney Harney and Dr. Jay Suggs for their outstanding care and compassion.
