Funeral for Grady Harrison Ratliff, 83, of Hartselle was Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Ernest Auston officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Ratliff died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Nov. 25, 1924, in Jefferson County to J.D. Ratliff and Irene Lake. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served on the USS North Carolina. He was also a millwright. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Marie Ratliff, a son, Randy Ratliff and a grandson, Randy Ratliff Jr.
He is survived by a son, Ronnie Ratliff and wife Camellia of Decatur; a daughter, Linda Waddle and husband Bill of Hartselle, a daughter-in-law, Glenda Ratliff of Hartselle; a sister, Melba Caldwell and husband Frank of Jasper; six grandchildren, Brenda Hill, Dywain Hill, Anthony Ratliff, Bruce Ratliff, Sharon Ratliff and Angela Mullican; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were grandsons and other family members.
