Marvin T. Black

A graveside service for Marvin T. Black, 94, of Huntsville was Monday, July 7, at 11 a.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with the Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Black died Sunday, July 6, 2008, at the Floyd E. “Tut” Fann State Veterans Home in Huntsville.
He was born Oct. 4, 1913, to Walter Erven Black and Bertha Hipp Black.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Melvin, Monte and Meredith Black. He and his brothers had a band know as the “Blackwood Bros. Orchestra” in the 1930s. All of them were also well known for their woodworking skills.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn J. Black of Huntsville; a daughter, Jen L. Roblee of Madison; a sister, Christine Grove of Hartselle; and two grandsons, David Brandon and Wesley Ryan Martin, both of Huntsville.
