Poppy Day another success

Thank you, Hartselle merchants, for giving us space to ask for donations for the disabled American veterans, our heroes. With your support, the American Legion Auxiliary (ladies) post 52 is delighted in making this a 100 percent campaign.
The little red crepe paper poppy is made by our disabled American veterans in hospitals across America.
With yours and our efforts and gifts, we can give back a portion of what’s due to them. Our freedom was at their cost and sacrifice. For every participant who donated, every worker who willingly gave of her time and energy, for the little child who gave a nickel, your deed was a good thing to do.
Remember, it’s always better to give than receive.

Children should visit farms

Thank you so much for publishing the story on the Cotaco School children and their opportunity to visit a local farm. As a farmer myself, it is important that the American people support the American farmer. We provide the safest and cleanest food in the world. Without the American farmer, the people of the United States will be subjected to buying food from other countries, quite possibly from anti-American countries. The American farm will continue to strive to produce the safest and best food for the American people. Thank you again for spotlighting the wonderful experience these children had visiting a local Alabama farm.
