Funeral for Walter D. McCarter, 69, of Hartselle was Wednesday, June 11, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Green officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. McCarter died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at his residence. He was born July 7, 1938, in Tennessee to Walter C. McCarter and Alice McCarter.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having served from 1960 to 1963 during the Cuban Crisis. He had resided in Hartselle since 1965.
He is survived by his wife, Betty McCarter of Hartselle; his mother, Alice James of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, D.L. McCarter of White Pine, Tenn.; and a sister, Judy Schultz of Cosby, Tenn.
Pallbearers were Leo Maze, Mike Winton, Roger Schultz, Bill Southern, Chris Eddy and Buddy Maze.
Honorary pallbearers were D.L. McCarter, Howell Cheatham and Jimmy Stinson.
