Funeral for Dora Atkins, 88, of Hartselle was Saturday, May 31, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Redfearn Jr. officiating.
Burial was in Forrest Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Atkins died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at her residence. She was born April 6, 1920, in Morgan County to Arthur Sandlin and Willard Cook Sandlin. She was a homemaker and a member of West Hartselle Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Coy Atkins; and a sister, Doris Simmons.
She is survived by two sons, Arthur Gordon Atkins and wife Marie and Randy Lee Atkins and wife Vicki, both of Hartselle; two daughters, Julia “Judy” Travis of Moulton and Patricia “Pat” Hudson and husband James of Somerville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-great-grandchild,
Pallbearers were Scotty Atkins, Michael Hudson, Shaun Atkins, Chris Hensley, Wendell Atkins and Mike Wiggins.
