Hartselle Police are searching for a man who, claming he had a bomb strapped to his body, robbed People’s Bank of North Alabama last week.
The Hartselle branch of Peoples Bank was robbed at midday May 30 by a white male in his late 30s or early 40s. The suspect calmly walked away from the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash stuffed in his pockets.
A surveillance tape showed the suspect leaving the building through the south exit (across from Kroger) and walking across the Crestwood Shopping Center parking lot in the direction of McDonald’s.

Barley said the investigation team is seeking leads from the public as to the robber’s mode of transportation or identity. Anyone with information is asked to call the Hartselle Police Department at 773-6534, Ex. 0.
