Teen charged with HHS, FHS burglaries

By By Staff, Hartselle Enquirer
A juvenile is facing charges related to burglaries at Falkville and Hartselle high schools.
The juvenile and another teen were arrested last week and charged in connection with an April 18 burglary at FHS.
Police Chief Chris Free said both of the youths were 17 and one of them had been arrested a few days earlier in Hartselle in connection with a school burglary there.
Free said entry was gained to the school from a rear door. The main office was ransacked and items reported missing included some keys, money, food items from a vending machine, walkie talkies and cell phones. Only a few of the items were recovered.
The teen and another person, Christle Jean Pruitt, 19, also face burglary in the third degree charges in connection with an April 29 incident at HHS.
According to Hartselle Police, HHS personnel arriving at the vocational building April 30 found it had been burglarized overnight. Electronics and other miscellaneous items were stolen. Most of the stolen property from HHS was recovered.
Pruitt was taken to Morgan County Jail on $750 bond. The teens were put under the care of the juvenile authorities.
