Merchants plan June 7 promotion

By By Clif Knight, Hartselle Enquirer
Hartselle’s Downtown Merchants Association is planning for a city-wide trade promotion under the name of “Hartselle Harmony and Hospitality.” The one-day event will be staged Sat., June 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
It will feature a drawing for door prices offered by the association’s members, live stage entertainment and an outdoor food court, according to Carey Green, president of the Merchants Association.
Green said members of the association gave the project their overwhelming approval at a regular monthly meeting April 29.
He said the Unity Quartet (Southern gospel singers), will highlight the entertainment. Food vendors will operate in the downtown area and the door prize drawing will be held at the gazebo in E.A.R.T.H. Park at 5 p.m. The food court will include a Coca Cola wagon. Proceeds from it will be donated to the SNAP project.
Greene said the event is a forerunner to what he and other downtown merchants hope will become a popular springtime trade promotion for the city.
