Curtis, Faulk exchange vows
Mary Katherine Curtis and Adam Cornelius Faulk were wed April 6, 2008, at Quail Creek Chapel in Hartselle.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Curtis of Hartselle. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Conner of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Pratt Faulk III. of Hartselle. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Wilson of Bonifay, Fla., Donald Jimmy Kelley of Geneva, and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Sidney Faulk, also of Geneva.
Tiered columns with cascading ivy and pearls, draped in satin appointed the altar. A towering 12-foot cross lined the altar window with a majestic mountain background.
The Reverend Matthew Nail performed the double-ring ceremony.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of white chiffon, contoured to a natural silhouette, featuring a ruched empire bodice, and accented with beaded lace. She carried a floral pomander of rainbow gerberas.
Megan Elizabeth Berry of Ft. Bragg, N.C. served as matron of honor. Michelle Imogene Curtis of Hartselle served as maid of honor. Both are sisters of the bride.
The groom’s father served as best man. Alex McWhorter served as groomsman.
Performing musicians were pianist, Pam Blevins and violinist, Hannah Blevins who played a prelude of hymns and classical selections.
Following the ceremony, a dinner reception was held at Quail Creek Resort.
After a wedding trip to Destin, Fla., the couple will reside in Hartselle.
Blackwood, Meadows to wed
Johnny and Janet Laney of Cullman and Barry and Denette Blackwood of Addison announce the engagement of their daughter, Kalie Blackwood, to Tron Meadows, son of Jim and Sandra Meadows of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Herman Blackwood of Addison, Mr. and Mrs. O.T. Laney of Vinemont, Linda Hauster and Rafard McCurley of Addison and the late Ethel Brannon, Loyd Brannon and Willodene Blackwood. A graduate of West Point High School and Wallace State Community College, she is attending Athens State College. She works at Redstone Arsenal with close combat weapon systems.
The future groom is the grandson of Larry and Peggy Parr of Hartselle, Velma Meadows of Hartselle and the late Floyd Meadows. He is a 2003 graduate of Hartselle High School and is employed with Parr Contracting.
The wedding is planned for May 17, 2008, at Founders Hall at Athens State.
Giffin, White announce plans
Mr. and Mrs. Al Giffin of Auburn announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Allyn Giffin to Britt Alan White, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dudley White of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Cochenour of Daytona Beach, Fla. and the late Rev. and Mrs. Patrick Giffin of Gainsville, Fla. A 2002 graduate of Gaither High School, she will receive her master of science degree in education from Auburn University in May. She plans to teach science in the North Alabama area.
The future groom is the grandson of Emily Knight and the late Lewis Vernon Knight of Wadley and the late Mr. and Mrs. D. Alan White of Decatur.
A 2002 graduate of Hartselle High School, he will receive his doctorate of pharmacy from Auburn University in May.
He will be employed with Publix Pharmacies in Madison and Huntsville.
The wedding is planned for July 12 at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Opelika.
Harris, Wade to wed May 17
Denise Harris and Essie Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter and granddaughter, Tiffany Denise Harris, to Alexander Lane Wade, son of Mr, and Mrs. Aubrey Richard Wade of Mobile.
The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Herschel Hulet. A 2006 graduate of Hartselle High School, she will receive her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama.
The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Wade of Waycross, Ga.
A graduate of Mobile Christian High School, he plans to pursue a career in the United States Coast Guard.
The wedding is planned for May 17 at 5 p.m. in Gulf Shores.
Brock, Vest to wed July 19
Scotty and Karen Brock announce the engagement of their daughter, Audra Grace Brock of Cullman to Jacob Alan Vest, son of Bryan and Lisa Vest of Fakville.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Milton and Billie Sue Pearsall of Cullman and the late Harry and Irene Brock of Cullman. A 2006 graduate of Way Home Christian School, she is attending Wallace State Community College.
The future groom is the grandson of Wayne and Alene Vest of Falkville and Lavonia Stisher of Falkville and the late Ross Stisher.
A 2005 graduate of Way Home Christian School, he is currently serving with the United States Marine Corp. at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, Ca.
The wedding is planned for July 19, 2008, at 6 p.m. at Journey Church Assembly of God in Eva.
Miller, Rabb to wed June 14
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Franklin Miller of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Mica Michelle Miller, to Daniel Calloway Schyler Rabb, son of Mr and Mrs. William Earl Kelly Rabb Jr. of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milan Burwell Morrow of Athens and the late Mr. and Mrs. Billy Joe Miller.
A graduate of Hartselle High School, she received her bachelor of science degree in human development and family studies from Auburn University in 2006. She received her masters in elementary education from Auburn University in Montgomery. She is a member of Sigma Kappa Social Sorority at Auburn University.
The future groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. William Earl Kelly Rabb Sr. of Hoover and Mr. and Mrs. George Nancarrow of Decatur. A graduate of Hartselle High School, he received his bachelor’s degree in bio medical sciences from Auburn University in 2007. He is employed with Superior Steel Supply. The wedding is planned for June 14, 2008, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Decatur.
