Funeral for John Walton Bain, 74, of Decatur will be Thursday (today), June 24, at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hugh Bohlin officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Athens.
Mr. Bain died Tuesday, Apr. 22, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Dec 3, 1933, in Limestone County to Cornelius Monroe Bain and Avo Elrod Bain. He was a member of Cedar Ridge Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, John Dennis Bain and wife Terri of Hartselle and Danny Glen Bain and wife Elizabeth of Decatur; a brother, James Howard Bain of Gardendale; two grandchildren, Charise Bain and Jonathan Bain, both of Hartselle; and other extended family member and friends.
Pallbearers were Bobby Long, Tony Martin, Randall Smith, Henry Chambers, Terry Miller and Charlie Waters.
Honorary pallbearers were Tony Workman and Cigar Holt.
