Brewer lifters second

FLORETTE - More than 150 high school athletes showed off their strength in the third annual North Central Alabama Powerlifting Championships Monday afternoon at Brewer High School.
Lifters compiled total poundages in three lifts: the squat, bench press and power clean.
The powerlifting championships were originally scheduled two weeks earlier, but was postponed due to bad weather.
Albertville won the competition with 189 points, finishing 14 points ahead of the host Patriots. Danville was third.
Brewer had seven lifters win division titles in the championships.
Will Pringle (120), Nathan Styles and Tyrick Wilson (165), Dylan Whisant (175), Aaron Taylor (195), Miles Cloer (275) and Dominique Burton (Heavyweight) all won division championships during the competition.
Pringle finished with 495 pounds to finish ahead of teamate Carson Cook.
Styles and Wilson tied in the 165-pound weight class with 810 pounds.
Whisant had a total of 885 pounds to finish ahead of Danville’s Levi George.
Burton finished with a three-lift total of 1,150 pounds, the highest total of the championships.
Taylor totaled 880 pounds on his three lifts.
Danville’s Corey Tyson won the 220-pound weight class with a total weight of 800 pounds.
Cloer topped the 275 class with 1,050 pounds.
