Funeral for the Rev. Paul Gene Douglas, 78, of Hartselle was Sunday, Mar. 23, at 3 p.m. at Forrest Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gene Lankford and Harold Thompson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Rev. Douglas died Friday, Mar. 21, 2008, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a United Methodist Church minister for 29 years and a member of the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by four brothers, James Douglas, Billy Douglas, George “Buddy” Douglas and Joe Douglas.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Roberts Douglas of Hartselle; a daughter, Joy Douglas Haynes and husband Ray of Tuscaloosa; two sisters, Evelyn Vest of Hartselle and Carolyn McLaughlin of Texas; and a grandchild, Joshua Ray Haynes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Children’s Home, P.O. Box 830, Selma, AL 36702.
