Downtown Merchants meeting planned for March 18

Downtown Hartselle merchants will have the opportunity to learn more about how they can attract tourism dollars to their cash registers at the next monthly meeting of the Hartselle Downtown Merchants Association. The meeting is planned for March18 at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Hartselle City Hall Auditorium.
Dana Lee Jennings, president/CEO of the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourist Association, will be the guest speaker. She has been involved in economic development and tourism projects for 35 years. During that time she served as a marketing consultant for 28 different cities during the federal urban renewal initiatives programs in the 1970s.
She is past president of the Huntsville/Madison County Hospitality Association, has served on the boards of the Alabama Mountain Lakes Association, Alabama Travel Council, Governor’s Tourism Advisory Board and the Alabama Museums Assocaition.
Reports on the organization’s activities during January and February will be given by Gary McCaig, vice president and Melba Johnson, secretary-treasurer. A vision statement will also be presented for consideration.
