DA announces plans for bad check roundup

By Staff
Morgan County’s District Attorney’s office will conduct a roundup of bad check writers in March. The roundup will include individuals who are delinquent on court costs owed to the District Attorney’s Restitution Recovery Unit.
DA Bob Burrell said he won’t divulge the exact dates of the roundup, but said violators who had not contacted the Worthless Check Unit and taken care of their obligations by March 21 would be included.
Burrell said his office has been working on information on the location of those with outstanding warrants.
The roundup will include those wanted by or delinquent on obligations to the DA’s office. Burrell said arrest can be avoided by payment in many cases or individuals can turn themselves in to avoid being included in the roundup.
Those who want to avoid arrest should call Bill Mauldin at 351-4740. If you have information on the location of someone, call the same number. Calls can be anonymous.
