Funeral for Addie Kathreyn Hendrix Cole, 80, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Mar. 5, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with her pastor, Bro. Charles Williams and a former pastor and long-time family friend, Bro. James Toone, officiating.
Burial was in Bethlehem East Cemetery in Hanceville.
Mrs. Cole died Sunday, Mar. 2, 2008, at her residence. She was born Feb. 22, 1928, in Cullman County to Arley and Lizzie Hendrix, the eldest of five children. She was employed at Calhoun Community College as a cafeteria worker for 25 years and worked in the same position at Austin High School in Decatur for 15 years. She was a member of First Holy Church of Christ and was an out-going, loveable, special person. She never met a stranger and loved everybody she knew. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of her heart.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Douglas Cole of Hartselle; two sons, Raymond Tankersley and wife Peggy of Decatur and James Edward Tankersley and wife Elaine of Cullman; a brother, Wayne Hendrix and wife Nelda of Cullman; four grandchildren, Tonda Turner and Deonna Walker, both of Decatur and Eddie Tankersley and Scottie Tankersley, both of Cullman; and seven great-grandchildren, Keely Turner, Amberly Walker, Levi Walker, Juston Tankersley, Lexi Tankersley, Haley Tankersley and Brooke Tankersley; two stepsons, Gary Cole of Tennessee and David Cole and wife Bonnie of Decatur.
The family extends special thanks to Hospice of the Valley.
