Funeral for Robert A. Burgkart, 79, of Decatur was Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Edward Bonds officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Burgkart died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at his residence. He was born July 26, 1928, in Illinois to Harvey Alva Burgkart and Nelda Irene Wittig Burgkart.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was preceded in death by a son, Billy Sivley.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Sivley Burgkart of Decatur; two sons, David Sivley and wife Teresa of Hartselle and Bobby Sivley of Birmingham; a daughter, Lynn Hill of Birmingham; a sister-in-law, Brenda Flowers of Hartselle; six grandchildren, Chris, Brandy, Nathan, Jeremy, Jessica and Eric; and five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Brooke, Shelby, Christian and Kailen.
Pallbearers were David Sivley, Jeremy Elliott, Eric Fish, Chris Wallace, Nathan Wallace, James Halbrooks and Bobby Sivley.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Alabama, 3311 Bob Wallace Dr., Suite 101, Huntsville, AL 35805.
