Looking for something special for your Valentine? A local hospice has several gift ideas, with proceeds going to help their work in the community.
A Valentine Basket from Hospice of the Valley is an annual tradition and fundraiser providing valuable support to the organization’s Community Bereavement Center. An integral part of hospice, the Community Bereavement Center is a central resource of support for individuals and the community as they deal with issues of grief related to death. The Center provides free support groups for adults, teens and children. Bereavement professionals are also available to businesses, schools, churches and organizations that may need assistance in the aftermath of a sudden death.
For just $30 each basket contains a bottle of Glen Ellen Piniot Grigio or Martinelli sparkling apple cider, cinnamon sugar butter wafers, roasted salted pistachios, triple chocolate bliss cookies, Bon Appetite snack mix, High Society snack mix, chocolate covered pecans, cinnamon honey pretzels and raspberry chocolate dipping sauce. Fifteen of the $30 gift is tax deductible.
Orders are currently being taken through phone, fax, e-mail or mail. Delivery is available for baskets containing the sparkling cider on Feb. 13 and 14 (baskets with wine are not available for delivery). All baskets are available for pick up at the Hospice main office at 240 Johnston St. SE in Decatur.
