Funeral for Maudie Burgess Tapscott, 86, of Hartselle was Saturday, Jan. 26, at 3 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Oden officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Mrs. Tapscott died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Dec. 5, 1921, in Morgan County to James Henry Burgess and Lillian Parker Burgess. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Tapscott; two sons, Billy Joe Tapscott and James Ferrell Tapscott; two daughters, Betty Jean Tapscott and Willodean Montgomery; her parents, and six brothers, Paskel Burgess, Claudie Burgess, (her twin), Coy Burgess, Roy Burgess, Willie Burgess and Ruby Burgess.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Wayne Tapscott and wife Cindy and Jerry Tapscott and wife Sharon; a daughter, Glynn Rose Brennan; a brother, Paul Burgess of Hartselle; two sisters, Opal B. Legg of Falkville and Lillie McClellan of Mt. Clemens, Mich.; a daughter-in-law, Judy Tapscott of Somerville; seven grandsons, Allen Tapscott, Jackie Tapscott, Hunter Tapscott, Phillip Brennan, Anthony Montgomery, Jeff Montgomery and Larry Montgomery, seven granddaughters, Mary Ann Tapscott, Tina Speakman, Sheri Tapscott, Lisa Tapscott, Kristi Tapscott, Tracy Tapscott and Amanda Tapscott; three great-grandsons, Cody Tapscott, Brody Tapscott and Marcus Turney; and two great-granddaughters, Destiny Montgomery and Telisha Montgomery.
Pallbearers were Allen Tapscott, Jackie Tapscott, Steve Legg, Jackie Johnson, Roland Burgess, Marion Burgess, Chris Burgess, Anthony Montgomery, Jeff Montgomery and Ronnie Reeves.
