Funeral for Cleo Denver Teague, 75, of Decatur was Monday, September 17, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Royce Teague and Todd Evans officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mr. Teague died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born April 27, 1932, in Morgan County to Walter Tennis Teague and Mattie Cooper Teague. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He worked for South Central Bell for 10 years. He was elected Circuit Court Clerk of Morgan County and served in that position for 30 years. He also was owner of Indian Hills Golf Course for 42 years. He was a former member of the Elks Club and Rotary Club and a member of various civic organizations.
Mr. Teague was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Tennis Teague; two brothers, James Teague and Kenneth Teague; and a sister, Faye Hughes.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Melba Teague of Decatur; three sons, Kevin Teague and wife Allyson and Byron Teague, all of Decatur and David Teague and wife Alison of Priceville; his mother, Mattie Teague of Decatur; two brothers, Herbert Teague and wife Delores of Decatur and Charles Teague and wife Evalene of Priceville; a sister, Lounett Husk of Omaha, Neb.; and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Doyle Bryant, Richard Goode, Jim Little, Jerry Moore, Derek Harvel, Chris Agnew, William Herchenhahn, Rosevelt Taylor, O. B. Terry, Dude Roberts and Dr. Joe Bach.
