Falkville woman collides with police

A Falkville woman who was already on probation for felony DUI was charged with driving under the influence again last week when the car she was driving collided with a Decatur Police patrol car.
Officer Chance Sparks said he was driving through the intersection of 8th Street SE when a car driven by Regina Leigh Cloer attempted to turn from 6th Street, causing a collision with Sparks' patrol car. The force of the impact drove the police unit into a utility pole, breaking it into pieces.
Cloer, 40, of 975 Bert Stinson Road, was charged with driving under the influence. Both Cloer and Sparks were taken to Decatur General Hospital for treatment. Both were treated and released. Cloer was taken to Decatur City Jail.
