A graveside service for Shirley M. Belmont, 72, of Danville was Saturday, July 21, at 11 a.m. at Hartselle City Cemetery with Bro. Mason Booth officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Belmont died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at her residence. She was born January 8, 1935, in Pennsylvania to Wayne Freeman Brewer and Evelyn Francis Schmidt Brewer. She was born and raised in Pennsylvania and moved her family to Alabama 22 years ago. She was married to Bill, her best friend and partner, for 52 years. All of her family and friends will surely miss her. She worked as a truck driver for Dixon Motor Freight Company.
She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Curwin Belmont Sr. of Danville; a son, William Curwin Belmont Jr. and wife Lisa of Alabama; three daughters, Bonnie Lee Anderson and husband Kierston of Alabama, Lois Eileen Waddell and fianc/e Jerry Dycus of Alabama; and Evelyn Marie Belmont and fianc/e Carl Hill of Alabama; five brothers, Wayne F. Brewer Jr. and wife Sarah of N. Huntington, Pa., James R. Brewer and wife Delores of Myrtle Beach, S.C., John R. Brewer and wife Roberta of Turtle Creek, Pa. Ronnie L. Brewer and wife Marion of Irwin, Pa. and Donnie L. Brewer and wife Bernadine of Yukon, Pa.; three sisters, Patricia Kiauonick and husband John of Huntington, Pa., Sandra Fisher and husband Bruce of Harrisburg, Pa. and Aluira Jupin and husband Michael of Wendell, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steven Belmont, Carl Hill, Rick Wadell, William King, Kierston Anderson and Jerry Dycus.
