11/12 American alive through Monday's games; National eliminated with 2 losses

Hartselle American stayed alive with an 11-9 losers bracket victory over Athens American Monday evening. Detailed information of that game and all following games were unavailable at press time.
Athens National 3, Hartselle National 1
With its loss to Athens National Saturday at Priceville's North Park, Hartselle National was eliminated from the 11/12-year-old District 1 Tournament with a record of 0-2.
Jamo Maxwell scored the only run for Hartselle National, with Phillip Summerford picking up the RBI. Maxwell, Tillman Landers and Daniel Conley each singled and Hunter Grantland had a double.
Decatur American 17, Hartselle American 12
Decatur American dropped Hartselle American to the losers bracket with its win Saturday at Sparkman Park.
Troy Harris had a strong game for Hartselle American, hitting two solo home runs. Connor Shelton and Nick Beach each hit a home run and scored two runs. Garrett Fowler hit three singles and scored two runs; Hunter Jones doubled and scored a run; J.W. Jenkins scored two runs and Tanner Brown scored one.
Brown pitched four innings and Beach and Tanner Phillips each pitched one.
Hartselle American 12, Hartselle National 10
The two Hartselle teams squared off Friday night at Sparkman Park, with American coming away with the two-run victory in eight innings to drop National to the losers bracket.
For American, Troy Harris hit two home runs and scored three runs. Connor Shelton hit two singles, a triple and scored three runs; Garrett Fowler doubled and scored two runs and J.W. Jenkins singled and doubled. Tanner Phillips and Tanner Brown each scored a run while Nick Beach scored twice. Fowler pitched five innings and Phillips and Shelton each pitched one.
For National, Daniel Conley singled, homered and scored four runs. Hunter Grantland singled, doubled and scored a run and Tanner Oakes singled and scored a run. Jamo Maxwell, Zac Pershin, Tillman Landers and Griffen Steelman each scored a run and Phillip Summerford doubled. Jake Whitt pitched four innings and Landers and Maxwell each pitched two.
