Thrasher, Shelton to wed
Lynn and Valerie Thrasher of Falkville announce the engagement of their daughter, Tina Lynne Thrasher, to Weston Durand Shelton, son of Derrell and Beth Shelton of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Ruby Nethery of Hartselle and the late Emmett Nethery Jr. and Doris Thrasher, also of Hartselle, and the late Henry F. Thrasher.
She is a 2000 graduate of Hartselle High School and a 2004 graduate of Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky.
She is employed with Progressive Insurance of Birmingham.
The future groom is the grandson of Gene and Peggy Durand of Hartselle and the late Buford and Lassie Shelton of Moulton.
He is a 1995 graduate of Hartselle High School and attends Athens State University.
He is employed with the Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Hartselle.
The wedding is planned for July 28 at 5:30 p.m. at McKendree United Methodist Church in Massey.
Wilcutt, Jump to wed
Larry and Paulette Wilcutt of Cullman announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen Denise Wilcutt of Cullman, to Andrew Christian Jump of Hartselle, son of David and Susan Jump of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of William E "Bill" and the late Katherine Wilcutt of Southside, and John and the late Osa Ergle of Cullman.
She is a 1999 graduate of Cullman High School, where she received an advanced diploma.
In 2003, she received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from the University of North Alabama, and in 2004, she received a master of arts degree in elementary education.
The future groom is the grandson of the late George and Marie Jump of Ocala, FL, and the late John and Josephine S. Tidd of Eugene, Ore. A 1996 graduate of Bethel Baptist High School, he attended Athens State University and in 2001 received a bachelor of science degree in computer science.
The wedding is planned for June 16, 2007, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Decatur.
Horton, Calvert to wed
Carol Lambert of Stockbridge, Ga. announces the engagement of her daughter, Victoria Nicole Horton of Stockbridge, Ga., to Derek Heath Calvert of Hartselle, son of Byron Calvert of Hartselle and Pam Calvert of Decatur. The future bride is also the daughter of the late Rev. Brian Horton.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Jerry and Nina Hubbard of Vicksburg, Miss. and the late Charles and Joy Burleson. She is a graduate of Stockbridge High School and a graduate of Truett McConnell College.
The future groom is the grandson of O.V. and Violet Calvert of Cullman and Verlon and Martha Moody of Cullman.
He is a graduate of Hartselle High School and a graduate of the University of Alabama, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in mechanical engineering.
He is employed by Teledyne Brown Engineering of Huntsville.
The wedding is planned for Aug. 25, 2007, at Autumn-wood Baptist Church in Decatur.
Hudson, Brown to wed
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Nelson Hudson of Tuscumbia announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Anna Hudson, to Cullen James Brown of Hartselle, the son of Mr. Shannion Brown and Mary Marquart-Brown of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Nelson Fleming and the late Mr. Hudson of Tuscumbia and Mrs. Grace Carraco Moore and the late Mr. Moore of Tuscumbia. She graduated from Deshler High School in Tuscumbia. She received a bachelor of arts degree in art history from the University of Alabama and is currently pursuing a master of arts degree. She is currently employed by The University of Alabama and Kentuck Gallery in Northport. The future groom is the grandson of Mrs. Cam Brown and the late Mr. Brown of Valhermoso Springs and Mr. Les Marquart and the late Mrs. Marquart of Madison, S.D.
He graduated from Hartselle High School. He received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from the University of Alabama, where he is currently a student at the University of Alabama School of Law.
The wedding is planned for Aug. 4, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church in Tuscumbia. After the marriage, the couple will reside in Tuscaloosa.
