Hayner, Welch to wed
Melinda Burns Hayner of Hartselle and Matthew Franklin Hayner of Mena, Ark. announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Lynn Hayner of Hartselle, to Michael Seth Welch of Cullman, son of Dana Olen and Brenda Brown Welch of Cullman.
The future bride is the granddaughter of George Leon Burns and the late Winnie Fay Burns of Hartselle and Robert Eugene and Susan Hayner of Mena, Ark.. She is a 2002 graduate of Hartselle High School and is currently attending Calhoun Community College where she is studying computer programming.
The future groom is the grandson of George Gilbert Welch and the late Earline Jester Welch of Hanceville and Mable Whitten Brown and the late William Dewey Brown of Hartselle. A 2003 graduate of West Point High School, he attended Wallace State Community College and graduated with an associate degree in auto body in 2005.
The wedding is planned for June 30, 2007 at 6 p.m. at the Burritt Museum in Huntsville.
Lawler, Crumpton to wed
Jerry and Penny Lawler of Athens announce the engagement of their daughter, Dru Lauren of Athens, to Christopher Morris Crumpton of Hartselle, son of Morris and Patty Crumpton of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Billy and Barbara Neal of Athens and the late Lee and Ruby Lawler. A graduate of Athens High School, she is currently attending the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where she is majoring in accounting. She is a member of Delta Epsilon Iota and Gamma Beta Phi.
The future groom is the grandson of Arnold and Joyce Crumpton of Meridianville and Tony and Paula Duncan of Toney. A graduate of Hartselle High School, he attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he received a degree in business administration in 2007.
The wedding is planned for Aug.11, 2007, at Lindsay Lane Baptist Church in Athens.
Moore, Roper to wed
Keith and Beverly Moore of Trinity announce the engagement their daughter, Amanda LeAnn Moore of Trinity, to Garland Dwayne Roper Jr., son of Jerry and Terry Boyd of Decatur and Garland Dwayne Roper Sr. of Hartselle.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Marie C. Moore and the late James William Moore of Decatur, Charlie and Joyce Smith of Decatur and the late James Leldon Stewart of Decatur. She is a graduate of West Morgan High School and is currently attending Athens State University. She is employed by the Morgan County School System at West Morgan Elementary School.
The future groom is the grandson of Carolyn Besnyl and the late Vaughn Besnyl of Hartselle and Andy C. and Willie Mae Roper of Hartselle. A graduate of Falkville High School, he attended Wallace State Community College. He is employed by Delphi. He is a specialist in the United States Army Reserves’ 663rd Engineering Company, and he spent a year with the Army supporting Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The wedding is planned for June 23, 2007, at First United Methodist Church in Hartselle.
Wood, Holcombe to wed
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry W. Wood of Falkville announce the engagement of their daughter, Leslie Gayle, of Falkville to James David Holcombe of Livingston, son of Major Thomas C. Holcombe of Tampa, Fla. and Jaine C. Holcombe of Enterprise.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Betty Wood and the late Gordon Wood of Falkville and the late Doice and Faye Chandler of Falkville. She attended the University of West Alabama and graduated with a degree in environmental sciences in December 2003. She is a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority Greater Birmingham Alumnae Chapter.
The future groom is the grandson of the late David and Theron Holcombe of Chelsea and the late James and Virginia Chastain of Hanceville. He attended the University of West Alabama, where he graduated with a degree in psychology in May.
He is a member of the Alabama Army National Guard, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The wedding is planned for June 23, 2007, at Palisades Park in Oneonta.
Smyth, Anderson to wed
John and Denise Smyth of Hartselle announce the engagement of their daughter, Jodie Deanna Smyth of Hartselle, to Eric Scott Anderson of Hillsboro, son of Jeannette Anderson and the late Ralph Anderson of Hillsboro.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Cartledge of Birmingham and Mr. William L. Smyth and the late Janice Smyth of West Blocton. She is a 2006 graduate of Decatur Heritage Christian Academy, where she played volleyball and softball. She is currently employed at Decatur Heritage Preschool.
The future groom is the grandson of Mildred Bogle and the late Millard Bogle of Hillsboro. He is a 2005 graduate of East Lawrence High School. He is currently serving as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and is stationed in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. In 2006, he served a tour of duty in Iraq. He has been awarded a Purple Heart.
The wedding is planned for July 7, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. at the Quail Creek Wedding Chapel in Hartselle.
