Weinman, Black exchange vows at East Highland Baptist
Alison Shea Weinman of Hartselle and Jeffery Wayne Black of Athens were wed May 12, 2007, at 2 p.m. at East Highland Baptist Church. Rev. Walter Blackman officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Doug and Bonnie Weinman of Hartselle. The groom is the son of Christine Black of Athens and the late Jackie Black.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a satin strapless designer silhouette gown with a tulle overlay featuring beaded lace and a cage train.
Her two-tiered cathedral-length veil featured Swarovski crystals. She carried pink and white roses.
Hailey Brewer Williams of Huntsville was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Melodie McCaig Bridges of Florence, Mandy Alexander Burleson of Hattiesburg, Miss., Emily Halbrooks Johnston of Florence, Ashley Maze Kelly of Huntsville, Rachel Renee McAbee of Atlanta, Chrystal Richardson Smith of Fayetteville, Tenn., Katie Matthews Sparkman of Danville and Kim Gillespie Weinman, sister-in-law of the bride, of Decatur.
Attendants wore white satin strapless tops with raspberry sashes and A-line, tea-length raspberry skirts.
They carried light pink amarillas.
Flower girls were Lizzie Howse of Hartselle and Liz Williams of Huntsville.
Ring bearers were Luke Ward and Tyde Ward, both of Hartselle, cousins of the bride.
Best man was Larry Michael Long of Athens.
Groomsmen were Bradley Joseph Craig of Athens, John Andrew Evers of Decatur, Kristopher Del Ward, cousin of the bride, of Hartselle, Bo Douglas Weinman, brother of the bride, of Decatur and Clark Lawrimore Whitaker of Decatur.
Pianist was Wanda McAbee, who was also a soloist. Tammy Winton was also a soloist.
A reception followed at the church following the ceremony.
The bride’s table featured a classic white, four-layered cake with a lush cascade of roses.
The groom’s table featured a two-tiered chocolate fudge cake.
Anita Ward, aunt of the bride, and Melissa Ward, bride’s cousin, were wedding directors. Assisting with the reception were Delores Tittle, Beth McHugh, Sonie Wilson, Tammy Dewberry, Sheila McCaig, Holly King and Melissa Long.
Jaime Crow of Hartselle and Susanna McMackin of Arab attended the bride’s book. Lauren Fowler of Hartselle were bubble attendants.
After a honeymoon trip to Mexico, the couple is residing in Hartselle.
A rehearsal party was held at the home of the bride’s parents in Hickory Heights. It was hosted by the parents of the bride and groom.
