Funeral for Herbert James Ogle, 86, of Hartselle, formerly of Weaver, was Sunday, April 29, at 4 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Anniston with the Rev. Walter Blackman officiating. Peck Funeral Home handled local arrangements.
Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Mr. Ogle died Friday, April 27, 2007, in Hartselle. He was born December 22, 1920, in Randolph County to Aron Clark Ogle and Alma Meeks Ogle.
He was a member of East Highland Baptist Church in Hartselle. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Bunnell Bates Ogle and two brothers, Bill Ogle and Melvin Ogle.
He is survived by three daughters, Sandra Smelser and husband Bill, Pat Vines and husband Troy and Suzanne Blackman and husband Walter; eight grandchildren, Sonie Wilson and husband Paul, Jason Ayers and wife Robbie, Kim Poole and husband Jason, Erin Knight and husband Ken, Josh Blackman, Jamie Wallace and husband Brad, Alyson Blackman and Caleb Blackman; nine great-grandchildren, Kirsty, Jake, Chasity, Bradley, Ian, Caroline, Kyle, Scarlet and Carson; special friends and caregivers, Evelyn Anzelone and Jamie Maples.
Grandsons and great-grandsons were pallbearers.
The family requests memorials be made to East Highland Baptist Church or West Weaver Baptist Church building funds.
