Funeral for Calvin J. Free, 80, of Hartselle was Wednesday, April 25, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Brad Roath and Whitt Wray officiating.
Burial with military honors was in Shoal Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Free died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War.
He is survived by four sons, Glenn Free of Decatur and Tom Free, Charles Free and Dennis Free, all of Hartselle; a daughter, Deborah Childs of Eva; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rodney Childs, Scotty Free, Kevin Free, Brian Robinson, Kenneth Whitworth and Nathan Lawrence.
Honorary pallbearers were Timmy Peeples, Dusty Free, Steven Free, Michael Free, Chucky Free, Jimmy Free, Isaac Childs and Thomas Holladay.
