James Hoyet ‘Hambone’ Halbrooks

Funeral for James Hoyet “Hambone” Halbrooks, 78, of Hartselle was Sunday, March 25, at 1:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Bond officiating.
Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery in Hartselle.
Mr. Halbrooks died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Crestwood Medical Center. He was born August 21, 1928, in Morgan County to Wite Halbrooks and Mattie Weaver Halbrooks. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was retired from Goodyear Mills after 37 years of service. He coached Little League baseball for 12 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Grace Blevins Halbrooks.
He is survived by two sons, James Hoyet Halbrooks Jr. and Bobby Halbrooks, both of Hartselle; three grandchildren, Christy Faye Brown, Robin Halbrooks and Wendy Smith; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Johnny Wright, Charles Quinn, Clarence Walls, Wayne Stinson, Steve Parson and Craig Garrett.
