Funeral for Ruth K. Key, 87, of Decatur was Monday, March 19, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Doug Moody and Curt Stanford officiating.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Key died Friday, March 16, 2007, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 2, 1920, in Jefferson County to Palmer Kelly and Effie Dye Kelly. She was a loving mother. She worked at Dixie Freezer, Pockman’s and retired from Hartselle Hospital.
She is survived by three sons, James Key of Danville, Harold Key of Hartselle and David Key of Danville; four daughters, Shirley Wilbanks of Danville, Joyce Drinkard of Eva, Carolyn Swader of Decatur and Cathy Heatherly of Hartselle; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Ricky Wilbanks, Lydel Wilbanks, Tim Swader, Stephen Swader, Ronald Key and Jeremy Key.
