Hartselle City Schools and Morgan County Schools are among the sponsors in this year’s Operation Prom Night. The program is an effort to educate prom-age students, parents, the public and businesses of the potential hazards of mixing intoxicating substances and Prom night.
Law enforcement officials will distribute printed material and talk to students before each school’s prom. There will also be vehicle checkpoints set up at locations where students are likely to be on Prom Night.
The emphasis of the program is holding those who drink and drive accountable for their actions. Drivers under age 21 are reminded that any alcohol in their systems can make them subject to arrest.
