A proposed state law that would require all school systems to observe the same school calendar was opposed by unanimous vote of the Hartselle School Board at its regular monthly meeting Monday night at Barkley Bridge Elementary School.
Superintendent Dr. Mike Reed said the proposal prompted the Alabama Association of School Boards to pass a resolution in opposition to the move and encourage individual school board across the state to do the same.
Board member Cathy Goodwin wanted to know how the school teachers present at the meeting felt about a uniform school calendar.
