City officials lobby for federal funding

A delegation of elected and appointed officials from Hartselle and Morgan County spent two days in the nation’s capitol earlier this week seeking federal assistance for high priority capital improvement projects.
They met with Congressman Bud Cramer, D-Huntsville, and Robert Aderholt, R-Haleyville, and Senators Richard Shelby, R-Tuscaloosa, and Jeff Sessions, R-Mobile, on Wednesday and Thursday and were scheduled to return home on Thursday evening.
Joining Tankersley as members of the delegation were Councilmen K. T. “Kenny” Thompson, Samie Wiley and Mark Mizell, District 2 Commissioner Ken Livingston, Hartselle Utilities General Manager Ferrell Vest and Board Chairman Mike Gunter, Allison Ross of the Morgan County Economic Development Association, NARCOG Transportation Director Dewayne Hellums, Johnny Howell, chairman of the Hartselle Transportation Committee, Bob Francis, chairman of the Hartselle Development Board and Susan Hines, president of the Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce.
The legislative agenda consists of 12 separate projects. They are listed by priority as follows:
