The time comes when those whom we have loved the longest and the best will travel far ahead into a place of serenity and rest. On Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, Shelly Renee Starr, 35, of Atlantic, N.C., found peace and comfort in the tender embrace of her Lord.
Funeral was Monday, Jan. 22, at 11 a.m. at Atlantic Baptist Church in Atlantic, N.C.
Burial was in Over the Brook Cemetery in Atlantic with Mundens Funeral Home, Morehead City, N.C., directing.
She is survived by her parents, James Lowell Starr of Somerville and Clora Willis of Atlantic, N.C.; three sons, Blake, 12, Mark Dylan, 11, and Tyler, 6; her grandmother, Frances Willis of Atlantic; two sisters, Lindsay Newkirk of Atlantic and Nikki Eddy of Decatur; and her stepmother Vickey Hall of Somerville.
Ms. Starr’s most memorable and happy times were when she brought her sons to visit Papa Lowell and they fished and played on the Wildlife Refuge in Somerville. Her goal in life was to be a good mother to her children that she cherished. She lives today in the kindness she showed, the comfort she shared and the love she brought into the lives of everyone she knew. She will be remembered for all the times she made such a difference in the lives of others, for her sweet smile, and for her loving heart.
