Falkville clobbers Class 5A West Point

Falkville boys 74, West Point boys 44
Class 2A Falkville broke open a four-point lead at halftime to rout Class 5A West Point on the road Friday evening.
Joseph Lacy had 24 points to lead Falkville (11-10), which also got 14 points from Heath Alford and 11 points from Justin Blanchard. Steven Lindsey had 10 rebounds for the Blue Devils, who are the No. 2 seed in the Morgan County tournament this week.
Nick Graham had 13 points to lead West Point.
East Lawrence boys 56, Priceville boys 55
The Bulldogs dropped a close game in their final area contest of the season on the road Friday evening.
JaColby Reid led Priceville (11-11, 2-4) with 19 points. Josh Bedwell added 17 and K.C. Green scored 11 points.
Kenneth Bolden had 11 points to lead the Eagles.
East Lawrence girls 76, Priceville girls 67
The Lady Bulldogs couldn't stop East Lawrence's Paige Hood, who scored 30 points.
For Priceville (12-10, 2-4), Keila Hamlin scored 15 points and Allison White added 10.
Jan. 18 games
Cullman boys 59, Brewer boys 44
Senior center Rusty Boyd finished with a double-double performance, but it wasn't quite enough as the Patriots fell on the road in their final area game of the season.
Boyd had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead Brewer (10-12, 3-3) in both categories. Alex Brown added 10 points for the Patriots.
Cullman's Ben Waid led his team with 16 points.
Brewer girls 69, Cullman girls 36
Three players scored in double figures for the Lady Patriots as they closed out their area season Thursday night on the road.
Courtney Scott finished with 16 points and nine rebounds for Brewer (13-7, 4-2). Andrea Crawford added 15 and Heather Childers scored 10 for the Lady Patriots.
Genie Browning had a team-high six assists and added six points of her own in the Brewer victory.
